  • Wow! It has definitely been a long time since I've written on here. I guess it's time for me to maybe retire the old xanga page considering I don't really use it anyway. Anywho, the past year has been quite a whirl-wind of events :) Some of them much much much better than others, but all learning experiences to say the least.
Well, since I've written on here I have- graduated, gotten married and gone to Myrtle Beach for the honey moon, moved to Hagerstown, got a nanny position watching a 7 month old, been asked to be in 2 of my best friends weddings, and any number of other countless activities, of course the highlight of all those by far was the wedding and honey moon :)

Here is one of the pictures from this glorious day :)
Outside of wedding planning I honestly can't remember much that went on last year, heh. Oh well I guess. And is it just me or does it seem that the years seem to go by faster and faster as you get older? Anywho, currently I am done setting up house and I'm getting ready to start Nannying for a baby girl "Sydney" who is 7 months old and has the world's fattest cheeks! I am also trying to lose 20 pounds by next summer. Now don't get me wrong, I know I'm not FAT, but I could stand to lose a little weight and I looked it up online and for my height and age, 115 is not an unreasonable goal. I had went from about 142 to 130 for the wedding, but over the honey moon I gained about 7 of that back :( I have already lost 2 pounds, and no don't worry, I'm not starving myself. I am eating healthy and working out once a day during the week (or at least attempting once a day). I figure by next summer losing 20 pounds is not unreasonable cause that's less than 2 pounds a month, and I've already done that in a week and a half. Anyways, enough about the weight loss. Maybe I will keep this up, who knows ;) Later guys!

  • Long time no talk.....

So it's been an incredibly long time since I've updated and I'm sorry. I didn't have good internet connection at home this summer so that's why I haven't been on. But for those of you who haven't heard or at least seen the DVD I wanted to let you know about my past weekend.

The Planning: Jeff and I actually started planning to go skydiving this summer during the summer of 2005 when we went to watch Jef'f's mom go skydiving for her 50th birthday. I was looking forward to the dive all summer. I had been working 2 jobs all summer and I wanted to go out with a bang. Little did I know what was going to happen.

The Few Days Before: I called Jeff on my way home from my last Friday at work. We were going skydiving that Sunday. I accidentally called him while he was on the phone with my Dad! When I found out it was my dad that he was talking to I started to wonder if MAYBE he was going to ask me to marry him. But I quickly pushed the idea out of my mind because of certain conversations Jeff and I had had this summer that gave me the impression that it wasn't going to happen until winter break sometime.

The Day!: That day our 2 families met on the other side of the bay bridge to travel to Skydive Delmarva. We stopped at a restaurant that my Grandfather told us about. I couldn't eat a whole lot because I was slightly nervous at the thought of jumping out of an airplane. We got to the place and walked around for what seemed like forever looking for where to sign up. (I felt so bad for Jeff because here he is, about to propose to me, and I have a horrible attitude because of the heat and the stress from planning the trip and not being able to please everyone.) Anyhow, we finally signed our life away and then we got to sit around and wait for 3 hours.

The Plane Ride: We finally boarded the plane. It was incredibly hot and squished, not to mention the fact that it seemed to take forever to get to 13,500 feet. At this point I was slightly nervous but not too worried. I was actually pretty excited about jumping out of an airplane (weird, I know!). It turns out every person in the plane knew what was about to happen except me!

The Jump: They had Jeff jump before me "so they could get a shot of him jumping too". Really it was so that Jeff was sure to make it down before me so he could be ready to kneel. Well I watched Jeff jump and then it was my turn. It was suprisingly not what I expected. You expect it to feel like a roller coaster ride, but it's not that at all. The rush of the wind during freefall was breathtaking, literally! But the view that I saw was amazing! We got to jump through a cloud!!! We freefalled for about a minute. When the parachute finally opened it was complete silence. It was like sitting in an airplane without all the stuff around you, just open sky. The guy that I tandem jumped with took me down really slowly. (I thought it was so that I could get my money's worth, but apparently not.) At one point he said to me "This is going to be a very special day for you sweetheart". My stomach did this huge flip and I started wondering if he really was going to do it. Then a few mins later he said "You see that banner down there? As we get closer I want you to read that for me." I started to cry, I knew what it was

The Proposal: When we got close enough to read it I read a banner that said "MEGAN WILL YOU MARRY ME?" I started to cry and yelled "YES" at the top of my lungs. I could hear everyone start to cheer. As I got closer I yelled it again. When we landed my jumper unhooked me and I ran up to Jeff and jumped in his arms and started crying and kissing him. When he put me down my knees buckled because I was so nervous and excited from everything that had just happened. He got down on 1 knee and asked me again and of course I said "yes". When he put the ring on my finger and it was a perfect fit!

I just wanted to share that great experience with you guys. It's certainly one that I will NEVER forget!

So I'm going through a phase right now. Maybe it's just the time of month, but either way it's a mood that I'm in that I just can't shake. The end of the semester is fast approaching and I'm not sure I'm ready for it. Don't get me wrong, I'm definitely ready for classes and school work and homework and all that jazz to be done and gone, but I'm not ready to go back home, but yet I am. I don't know how to explain it. I love being around some of the people here at school, and I absolutely love being on my own in my own apartment and all, but it's just time to be away from Frostburg and a lot of the life that surrounds this crappy little college town. But yet I don't want to go home because that means it's 3 months of disgusting humidity and crappy retail and daycare work. But then again I'm glad to get to work because I need the money. So now I guess you can tell why I'm so confused, if you've been able to follow the thought process at all. Bah! I also am officially flat broke. I have a whopping $58 in my bank account and I'm overcharged on both of my credit cards It's so depressing. I'm so confused I don't even know how to feel right now.

  • A little change of pace, just something interesting to read....

    2 TOUGH QUESTIONS

    Question 1:
If you knew a woman who was pregnant, who had 8 kids
already, three who were deaf, two who were blind,
one mentally retarded, and she had syphilis, would
you recommend that she have an abortion?

Read the next question before looking at the
    response for this one.

    Question 2:
It is time to elect a new world leader, and only
your vote counts. Here are the facts about the three
    candidates.

    Candidate A.
Associates with crooked politicians, and consults
with astrologist. He's had two mistresses. He also
chain smokes and drinks 8 to 10 martinis a day.

    Candidate B.
He was kicked out of office twice, sleeps until
noon, used opium in college and drinks a quart of
    whiskey every evening.

    Candidate C
He is a decorated war hero. He's a vegetarian,
doesn't smoke, drinks an occasional beer and never
    cheated on his wife.

Which of these candidates would be our choice?
Decide first... no peeking, then scroll down for the
    response.

    -------------------------------------------------------------

Candidate A is Franklin D. Roosevelt.
    Candidate B is Winston Churchill.
    Candidate C is Adolph Hitler.

And, by the way, on your answer to the abortion
question: If you said YES, you just killed
    Beethoven.

Pretty interesting isn't it? Makes a person think
    before judging someone.
Wait till you see the end of this note! Keep
    reading..

Never be afraid to try something new.
    Remember: Amateurs...built the ark.
    Professionals...built the Titanic

And Finally, can you imagine working for a company
that has a little more than 500 employees and has
    the following statistics:
    * 29 have been accused of spousal abuse
    * 7 have been arrested for fraud
    * 19 have been accused of writing bad checks
    * 117 have directly or indirectly bankrupted at
    least 2 businesses
    * 3 have done time for assault
    * 71 cannot get a credit card due to bad credit
    * 14 have been arrested on drug-related charges
    * 8 have been arrested for shoplifting
    * 21 are currently defendants in lawsuits
    * 84 have been arrested for drunk driving in the
    last year...

Can you guess which organization this is?

    Give up yet?

It's the 535 members of the United States Congress.
    The same group
that crank out hundreds of new laws each year
designed to keep the rest of us in line.

    You gotta pass this on..

About Me

  • I just got married on June 9, 2007! It was absolutely the best day of my life! I'm settling down with my hubby in a new area so I'm just trying to get situated and learn more about my area. I'm always up for some fun. Jeff and I are always looking for stuff to do on the weekend. We love having people over (especially Ashley & Thom;) ) If anyone is interested in getting together just give us a call :) I miss my girlfriends from home like crazy! I wish that they could live nice and close to me here, although Jane does live right across the "street" :) I love them all to pieces and I don't know what I'd do without them. I love staring at the sky in awe and amazement that God is so creative every single day. I admire and love everything about the clouds and sunsets and sun rises :) I'm a young energetic newlywed just looking to have a great time and enjoy this life to the fullest!
